Lauren Ledwell is CEO of the PEI BioAlliance and a Venture Partner at Sandpiper Ventures, with a career spanning venture capital, financial services, and high-growth technology companies. At the BioAlliance, she leads one of Canada’s fastest-growing bioscience clusters, supporting companies and helping position Atlantic Canada as a globally competitive hub for innovation and export-driven growth. At Sandpiper Ventures, a Canadian VC firm investing in high-growth, female-founded technology companies, she has led and supported investments at the Seed and Series A stage across digital health, cleantech, and AI.
Lauren brings cross-sector leadership experience from early-stage startups to global enterprises. She previously held senior roles at RBC and Manulife, and served as CEO of discoverygarden, a Canadian technology company. She has also been active as an angel investor and ecosystem builder, including as a co-founder of Women’s Equity Lab Atlantic and through mentorship roles with Creative Destruction Lab, Emergence, and Junior Achievement.
A strong advocate for inclusive innovation and regional economic growth, Lauren serves on several boards, including Venture for Canada and the PEI IT Alliance. She holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management and lives in Prince Edward Island with her husband and two children.
