CEO, partner and pilot at Northway Aviation LP
Chris’s career as a pilot began in Manitoba in 2000, flying small planes in the wilderness of Northeast Manitoba. Chris then spent time flying at Calm Air which provided a significant learning experience. In 2007, Chris transitioned to the Chief Pilot position at Northway Aviation Ltd, at a time when the decades-old business was struggling. He created an advisory board of diverse business advisors to help initiate change. Chris combined his aviation experience with his strong knowledge in business and finance to rebuild and restructure the entity to lead it through substantial growth. Northway Aviation Ltd was sold in 2024. Chris is a partner in Northway Aviation LP and continues his role as CEO. Northway Aviation LP provides scheduled service to 16 First Nation communities in Manitoba and Northwest Ontario, and its wholly owned subsidiary SkyNorth Air provides medivac services across Manitoba.
Chris was on the Nav Canada Advisory Board and the Manitoba Aviation Council for a number of years. Chris is a big supporter of the Bridge to Nowhere Ride, an annual cycling event that supports a variety of Winnipeg charities. Chris enjoys mentoring other entrepreneurs, when given the opportunity, to pay forward the guidance he was given.
