Wendy Murphy

Wendy Murphy has been a prominent figure in Alberta’s construction industry since 1996. As the CEO and partner of Timber Tech Truss LP, she brings over 25 years of hands-on experience in the production, design, sales, and marketing of her business. Her leadership journey has been defined by significant milestones, including the successful startup of Timber Tech Calgary’s division in 2007 and a major acquisition in 2018 that expanded the company’s reach. In 2023, Wendy led the sale of her family-owned business, which had been a cornerstone of the community for over 43 years, partnering with Westcap Management Ltd., a private equity firm focused on Western Canada. Most recently, in 2024, the Timber Tech LP group acquired Brydon Stairs, with Wendy steering the company’s strategic focus on acquisitions and new business ventures in the prefabrication home and framing/assembly industries. Wendy is a proud graduate of the University of Lethbridge, SAIT Polytechnic, and the Ivey School of Business Quantum Shift program. Her professional success has earned her recent nominations for RBC’s 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year Award and an Honorary Doctorate in Business from the University of Lethbridge. Her core philosophy—“To Elevate Success”—drives her passion for personal and professional growth, helping others achieve their goals and elevate their performance. A strong advocate for community involvement, Wendy is deeply committed to volunteerism and philanthropy. She supports organizations such as Kids Cancer Care and Woods Homes, which align with her values of giving back to the communities where she works and lives. Outside of work, Wendy is an adventure seeker who enjoys spending time with her large family, close friends, and adult children. Her favorite activities include backcountry skiing, mountain biking, hiking, surfing, and traveling the world. Wendy also finds peace through her yoga and meditation practice. In 2024, she experienced the joy of becoming a grandmother, a gift she describes as the greatest blessing of her life.
