John Hotson is an entrepreneur, strategist, speaker and advisor to business owners. He has over 35 years of experience of working in a wide variety of industries in all aspects of the business lifecycle – from start-up, to operations, to acquisition and growth through to the ultimate sale.
In his role as head of Marketing for Nortel Networks, John started up and ran a retail business unit for the company, building the brand to number one in Canada and the U.S.
After leaving Nortel John became a founding partner in one of Canada’s foremost communications firms, specializing in helping clients maximize the value of their business through strategic investor communications. His clients included Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL), CIBC, Ontario Hydro, Barrick Gold, the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), McDonald’s Canada, Magna International and the University of Toronto.
John is a founding partner of the Business Transition Alliance www.btahelps.com. BTA works hands-on with private companies to help them develop and implement effective strategies that increase the value and profitability of the business as the owner prepares to exit.
