Canstar Group of Companies

(Acquired 5 companies)

Ji Yoon is President & CEO of the Canstar Group of Companies and a seasoned C-suite executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across restoration, diversified resources, construction-related services, manufacturing, building products distribution, and multinational operating environments. Over the past two decades, he has led mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, ERP transformations, and enterprise-wide change initiatives for private equity-backed, privately held, public company, and global businesses.

Ji brings deep transaction and integration experience that is directly relevant to strategic buyers and institutional investors. At Canstar, he has been instrumental in resetting the executive team and rebuilding leadership capability to stabilize the platform and prepare it for its next phase. He led the acquisition process and post-acquisition integration of Universal Restoration Systems and Lydale Restoration, with a clear focus on capturing synergies, strengthening regional scale, and aligning operating disciplines across the organization. He has also helped build out Canstar’s hub-and-spoke operating model as a Western Canada consolidation platform designed to support further expansion through acquisitions.

Previously, at Meraki Resources Group, Ji helped restructure the finance organization across five operating divisions within a diversified resource development, forestry, civil construction, and transportation platform. His mandate included strengthening reporting discipline, KPI visibility, finance leadership, and change management to support strategic execution across a multi-entity business operating in Canada, the United States, and New Zealand.

Earlier in his career, Ji served as CFO and Corporate Secretary of On Side Restoration, where he led the finance side of an aggressive acquisition program in Ontario and Quebec that completed five acquisitions within approximately 18 months. Those transactions were a major driver of On Side’s revenue growth from roughly $130 million to more than $280 million, while expanding the company’s footprint from 21 locations to nearly 40 across Canada. He also led finance-side preparation, diligence, and transaction support for the successful strategic sale of the business to Intact Insurance. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles with SeaStar Solutions (formerly Teleflex Marine), JER Envirotech, and Taiga Building Products, where he worked through private equity ownership transitions, structured financings, asset-based lending, governance initiatives, and large-scale ERP and reporting system implementations in national and international businesses.

Ji is known for building disciplined, KPI-driven teams and aligning finance, systems, and operations to support scalable growth, post-acquisition integration, and ownership transition. His experience working with private equity sponsors, large strategic operators, and complex multi-jurisdiction enterprises makes him well positioned to support a buyer through transition and help lead the next chapter of growth under new ownership.
