Gary is an inquisitive and driven CEO, with a wealth of experience scaling and developing business. He has 30+ years of diversified experience serving on Executive Boards for private, public sector, non-profit organizations, crown corporations and industry associations. Commercially astute and with an eye for financials and cash flow that ensures business follows a growth strategy centered around continuous improvement.

With a proven track record of growing, leading, and eventually exiting a successful family business.

• Led and scaled the dramatic expansion of Big Freight Systems Ltd., a multi-generational family run business, from $1M annual revenue to $80M, and provided leadership for a team of over 350 employees.


• Transitioned Big Freight Systems in to one of North America’s largest transportation companies with a full suite of services including logistics, freight brokerage, warehousing and retail fleet maintenance.


• Merged Big Freight Systems with another family business as part of a growth strategy, then bought out the partners.


• Established the strategic vision, marketing strategies, and business plan for the annual lottery program for the Health Science Center Foundation, as the Lotteries Chair and Board member, raising $2M over two years


• Launched two Capital Pool Companies (CPCs). Identified merger opportunities. Negotiated agreements for completing two qualifying transactions and guided them to become publicly traded companies. This included Pyrogenesis Canada Inc. (“PYR”) with numerous patents in the clean technology sector and one of the top 10 largest CPC graduates on the TSX.


• Recognized with the Shipper Choice Award in both LTL & TL Categories in 2020 (9th time overall and 4th consecutive year the team was an award recipient).

Gary comes with exceptional interpersonal skills that include a passion for people; ensuring teams are focused, engaged, motivated and challenged. He is passionate about assisting in the personal growth of team members by encouraging that they take ownership for delivering the highest standards of customer service both internally and externally. He is also fully versed in the complexities of US/Canadian business operations, M&A, CPCs, transportation, logistics and industrial real estate. Gary now spends his time managing his industrial real estate portfolio and is heavily involved in cryptocurrencies, DeFi and Web3.0 investing.
