Gary Coleman

President, Garibaldi Investments Ltd. (Sold Big Freight Systems Inc)

Gary was born and raised in Steinbach, Manitoba. He graduated from RRC Polytech with a diploma in Business Administration. Growing up in a family business, Gary transformed their small trucking operation, South East Transfer, into Big Freight Systems through a merger and buy-out. Under his leadership, Big Freight became one of Canada’s largest specialized carriers, excelling in cross-border transportation, warehousing, and logistics.

In 2018, Gary sold Big Freight and now focuses on his family office, Garibaldi Investments Ltd., which invests in commercial and industrial real estate, Web3 start-ups, and cryptocurrencies.

Recently, Gary collaborated with TriWest Capital Partners and Manitoba First Fund to establish the TriWest Opportunities Fund Manitoba, where he serves as Senior Director, based in Winnipeg.

Gary’s dedication extends beyond business. He has served on the boards of Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries, the Health Science Center Research Foundation (where he was Lottery Chair), YPO Manitoba, the Manitoba Trucking Association Executive Committee, the Canadian Trucking Association, and the American Trucking Association Truckload Carriers Conference.

He is also proud of the Gary Coleman Award for Inner City Scholars, a full-ride scholarship program supporting exceptionally talented inner-city young adults attending RRC Polytech.
