Jaclyn McPhadden

Exited Founder (Sold RecycleSmart)

Before life as a curious entrepreneur, Jaclyn earned her B.Sc. in Biology at UVic and her MBA at UBC. She spent several years working and exploring both the Arctic and Antarctica. This transformational experience of learning and leading teams in some of the most remote, pristine locations on the planet paved the way for wonderful ideas. Jaclyn co-founded and led one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies to $55 million in annual sales before an exit in 2022. Her company disrupted the antiquated waste industry through the adoption of innovative technology, which was a key factor in growing at such incredible speed without outside investors.

Jaclyn has demonstrated herself as both a business builder and leader which earned her recognition as Female Entrepreneur of the Year, one of Vancouver’s Forty Under 40 and a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

Mom, Rider fan, Phở lover, and a constant risk-taker, she believes a bright future includes transforming our approach to waste and recycling management.
