Anshul is the founder of Tourmalet Partners – www.tourmaletpartners.ca – the private investment company of the Ruparell family that makes majority investments in family-owned Canadian companies. 

Anshul was most recently the CEO of Properly, which enabled Canadians to access their home equity to buy their next home before selling their current one. They grew the business to $30+ million in sales and $1.5+ billion in customer transactions, becoming one of the most recognized brands in real estate. Properly was backed by investors including Bain Capital and was recognized as one of the best workplaces in Canada. Properly was acquired in 2023.

Before Properly, Anshul worked at FJ Labs, a venture capital firm that invested early in companies such as Uber and Airbnb. He led investments in new businesses and launched ventures such as a digital insurance brokerage (acquired in 2017) and a recruiting marketplace for hourly workers (acquired in 2020).

Prior to FJ Labs, Anshul was a private equity investor at CPP Investments, where he focused on the industrials and business services sectors. Anshul began his career in investment banking.

Growing up in Calgary, he hails from a family of entrepreneurs and began working in the family business at age 12. He holds an HBA from Ivey Business School and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
