Giovanni Marcelli came to Canada from Italy in 1969 after obtaining a college Diploma in Electro-Technical Engineering. In 1972 Mr. Marcelli started an electrical contracting business and in 1982 commenced the development of Accubid, a computerized estimating system that was accurate, intuitive and expedient.

Accubid became the largest provider of Estimating/Project Management software for Electrical Contractors in North America.

Accubid software and business principles are used by some twenty thousand clients in the USA and Canada and have become the industry standard.

Accubid was acquired by Trimble Navigation in Aug. 2010 and continues operating as a division of Trimble in Maple Ontario.

In 2012 Mr. Marcelli went on to acquire Northern Transformer, a power transformer manufacturer located in Concord Ontario. Since then Northern Transformer has been moved to a new 100,000 SF state of the art plant capable of producing much larger transformers.

Mr. Marcelli is also a very successful collector/dealer of antique automobiles which he enjoys driving and preserving. Often these unique and very valuable cars are driven and shown for various charity fundraising causes.
