Dr. Keith Willoughby

Dean & Professor

Edwards School of Business (University of Saskatchewan)

Born and raised in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Dr. Keith Willoughby is the Dean of the Edwards School of Business (University of Saskatchewan) and a Professor in the Department of Finance and Management Science. He obtained his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of Calgary. Previous to his employment at the University of Saskatchewan, he was a faculty member in the Department of Management at Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA).

He spent three years of his career as a senior operations research specialist with the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council. In this role, he applied operational excellence tools to assist with reducing wait times for pediatric speech language pathology, improving patient flow in emergency departments, and enhancing the efficiency of physician registration services.

He has developed an analytical model for predicting the champion of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The model’s predictions are regularly featured on the CFL website.

He flunked the Jeopardy try-out test in California, struck out playing T-ball, and benched his 6 year-old son while coaching his soccer team in Calgary. On the positive side, he is one of the few golfers in the world with a +30 handicap to record a hole in one.

He hopes to live long enough to see the Toronto Maple Leafs win a Stanley Cup.
