Kevin Shaw

President & Managing Director, Baker Tilly Capital

Negotiating a successful merger or acquisition takes more than expertise and experience. It also requires deep focus, serious goal-setting and the strength and stamina to go the distance. Fortunately for Renaissance clients, they get all that in Kevin – a fitness enthusiast who’s completed a half marathon, full marathon, Olympic triathlon and the challenging Tough Mudder obstacle course. He cycled across Canada in November 2013, raising $160K for Movember Canada, and has also gone skydiving.

Kevin brings a diverse background to Renaissance, serving as an integral member of the Mergers and Acquisitions division. His experience working with businesses in a variety of industries ranging from hospitality to construction has proven invaluable when it comes to acquisition planning, divestitures, business strategy and business transition.

Before he joined the Renaissance Mergers & Acquisitions team, Kevin worked in Hong Kong at a web development agency, later opening a Vancouver satellite office. He then moved into a sales and business development role with a local Vancouver-based consumer packaged goods company. Today, he sits on the board of numerous charitable organizations, as well as the board of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association and Prostate Cancer Canada’s Western Canadian Advisory Board. Kevin holds a BBA from Simon Fraser University in Finance and Marketing and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia with a specialization in finance.

This glass-half-full guy is also a co-founder of the Vancouver-based Whisky Wisemen, a not-for-profit organization that won the Notable Award for Best Not-For-Profit in Western Canada. Kevin and his wife Jeannine currently reside in Vancouver and are expecting their first child in July 2019.
