Prior to joining SCF, Chad was the Founder and Managing Director of Resource Merchant Capital, a boutique merchant bank focused exclusively on investments in the Canadian Oilfield sector. From 2006 to 2015, Chad was an owner and CFO of Pacesetter Directional Drilling, Canada’s largest private directional drilling business. Pacesetter grew from zero revenue to over $100 million of revenue in its first five years and eventually sold to Schlumberger in early 2015. Prior to 2006, Chad was a Partner and VP Corporate Finance of Stonebridge Merchant Capital where he started his career in 1998. Chad has chaired and has sat on a number of private oilfield service company boards. He is currently the Vice Chairman of CUPS in Calgary, a non-profit helping kids and families break the cycle of poverty.

Chad earned a B.Sc. in Science from the University of Alberta in 1995 and a dual MBA / Master in Agriculture, specializing in Resource Economics, from the University of Alberta in 1999. He also completed his ICD.D designation focused on Board of Directors work in 2016. Chad and his wife have two children and live in Calgary.
