Background

Luigi is a Director in KPMG‘s Ontario/Atlantic region Transaction Services practice which primarily advises private and public corporations on their mergers, acquisitions and divestiture transactions focusing on financial due diligence and contract closing mechanisms.

Professional and Industry Experience

Luigi brings over 15 years of experience across the M&A continuum where he has distinguished himself as a seasoned deal specialist with extensive experience in domestic, global and cross border deals, serving private equity, middle-market & corporate clients in the U.S., Canada and around the world. 

Over the course of Luigi’s career, he has been involved in transactions of all sizes from small to large acquisition & divestitures, ranging in value from $1 million to $5 billion spanning a diverse range of industry sectors, including retail and consumer products, health care services, industrial products & manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and local family run operations.

Prior to joining KPMG, Luigi worked in PwC’s Deal Advisory practice in New York, Milan and Toronto.  He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and is a qualified CPA, Ontario.

Led the following divestiture engagements that included financial due diligence and contract closing mechanism services which created and/or preserved value for the seller ranging from $1m to $50m on each transaction: 

• Financial due diligence advisor on the purchase and sale of Bateman Engineering service in South Africa
• Financial due diligence advisor on the sale of Barilla’s bakery and bread production business in Germany and Netherlands
• Financial due diligence advisor on the sale of Lucky Brand and Juicy Couture in New York
• Financial due diligence advisor on the sale of UniCredit’s Pioneer Investment business in Canada / Italy
• Financial due diligence advisor on the sale of Honeywell’s sale of it’s Friction Materials business in Canada / USA
• Financial due diligence advisor on the sale of Pirelli’s Prysmian business in Canada/USA/Italy/UK
• Financial due diligence advisor on the sale of  Pfizer’s consumer healthcare unit in USA/Canada/Europe/Asia
