Paul Hemsley is the founder and President of Hemmera. Since 1994, Paul has worked with his partners and employees to build Hemmera into an award-winning, national environmental consultancy that today employs more than 250 professionals across Canada.

Paul is personally committed to establishing sound and sustainable business practices. He was a nominee for BC Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002, and has been recognized as a 40 Under 40 Achiever in BC.

In addition to his business and leadership skills, Paul is recognized as an environmental assessment specialist with widely varied project leadership experience ranging from contaminated sites to First Nations consultation. In addition, he has extensive project management experience on significant marine port developments, renewable energy projects, and infrastructure projects across western Canada.

Paul is fully conversant with the extensive regulatory framework pertaining to environmental assessment and land use management, having played an integral role in the evolution of public policy and planning since 1990. Throughout the course of his career, Paul has successfully navigated this regulatory framework for various industries in multiple sectors.
