Michael Beninger has practised taxation law and provided strategic personal and corporate planning advice in Alberta and British Columbia for more than 30 years. He has advised many successful senior executives and private entrepreneurs, as well as major Canadian and international corporations.

Michael focuses on providing strategic planning advice to senior executives and private entrepreneurial clients in their business and personal wealth planning. This includes asset protection, ownership and securitization, tax-effective planning, and family inter-generational planning.

Michael takes an objectives driven approach to providing personal planning advice. He listens to clients and understands their overall family, business and financial objectives. He provides practical, creative solutions that enhance a client’s circumstances by providing certainty, flexibility, and peace of mind, with an eye to simplification of
legal structures.

Recipients of planning advice have included senior executives, directors and owners of businesses involved in oil and gas services, real estate development, oil and gas exploration and development, construction, manufacturing, oil sands development and biotechnology.

Michael has lectured and written extensively for the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Tax Journal, and the Canadian Bar Association. He has provided tax policy advice to the Departments of Finance of Canada and Alberta, and lectured on corporate tax at the University of Alberta.
