Steve (Stilianos) Mirkopoulos

Former CEO and President, Cinespace Film Studios

Mr. Mirkopoulos holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering, Engineering Science Nuclear Program from the University of Toronto, and is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (P. Eng.).

As President and CEO of Cinespace Film Studios, for over 30 years, Steve Mirkopoulos led the family business to become North America’s largest privately owned comprehensive film production studios, with campuses in Toronto and Chicago. Cinespace, a truly family enterprise, became synonymous with service excellence, quality, reliability, trustworthiness and first in class operation.

Steve was instrumental in creating a business environment in which family members developed to became most capable in carrying out the various executive roles using their complementary skills. The culmination of Steve’s very fulfilling leadership of the family enterprise was the preparation, negotiation and ultimate sale of Cinespace.

Mirkopoulos is former president of the Hellenic Heritage Foundation (HHF), a non-profit charitable organization that seeks to enrich the unique social and cultural fabric of Canada by preserving and sharing Hellenic culture and heritage with the broader Canadian community. He served on this Board for 25 years. Mr. Mirkopoulos was also a Board of Trustees Member of the York University Foundation. In addition, he served on the Board of the Toronto Port Authority and has served on the Board of the Toronto East General Hospital Foundation.
