Michele Cooper is Managing Director, Growth & Transition Capital (GTC). With more than 15 years of experience in various roles at BDC, Michele currently leads a team of directors in the GTA focusing on cash-flow lending, mezzanine financing and direct equity investments.

Prior to her current role, Michele was the Regional Director for BDC’s Ontario Technology Group, where she was responsible for building and leading a technology sales team across the province. During this time, Michele developed a strategy to increase BDC’s penetration rate in technology firms and build brand awareness of their offerings in that space. She also spent over 10 years leading senior debt sales teams in the GTA, along with time in credit risk management.

Creative and resourceful, Michele is passionate about working closely with entrepreneurs—educating them, providing financing and sharing advice to help them grow. She’s particularly driven to develop a strong Canadian tech ecosystem and to ensure more women entrepreneurs get access to the financing they need.
