John Wilson is Managing Partner at ninepoint partners, an alternative asset manager based in Toronto with $3 billion in AUM formed from the management buyout of the diversified fund business of Sprott Asset Management. Prior to the buyout, Mr. Wilson was CEO, CO-CIO and Senior Portfolio Manager at Sprott Asset Management. Previous to Sprott, he was Chief Investment Officer at Cumberland Private Wealth Management, founder and CEO of DDX Capital Partners, an alternative investment management firm; was Managing Director and a top-rated technology analyst* at RBC Capital Markets, a Director at UBS Canada; and previously, held a variety of management roles with Nortel Networks.

John earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University, and is an MBA graduate of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
