Gord has enjoyed a colourful 25 year career working in a wide range of roles in several industries, and in companies from large transnationals to entrepreneurial startups.  He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science from the University of Guelph, and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.

He began his professional career in 1988 in a transnational pharmaceutical company, holding roles in R&D, regulatory and product management. Following that he was a Management Consultant at a ‘top 4’ accounting firm where he helped companies make meaningful, sustainable changes to their business processes using Lean and Constraints Management to optimize profitability. Gord has alsp been a Director of Operations and Planning at a P&C insurance company, co-founded a chemical regulatory company, lectured at business school, and co-founded a Capital Group with 3 partners to acquire and operate small manufacturing companies.

In 2007, he became owner and president of an HVAC manufacturing company, where he repositioned the Company’s growth strategy, driving new R&D, leading MRP and production system development, cultivating opportunities in new and existing customer markets, and growing demand for the Company’s products in Canada and the US.  He led the company back to profitability in 3 years, and then to a successful sale to a European transnational in 2017.

Gord is now a management consultant, and is an active board member of ‘Bracelet of Hope’, a Canadian charity working collaboratively with NGOs and the people of Lesotho to achieve the UNAIDS goal of 90-90-90, an ambitious treatment target to help end the AIDs epidemic.
