Doris Valade is founder and President of Malabar Super Spice Co. Ltd., a distributor and manufacturer of quality spices and seasonings for food processors across Canada since 1982.  After 35 years of leading and growing the company, Doris was instrumental in the offering and sale of the company to a Canadian private equity group in 2017.

PROFIT/Chatelaine magazine has recognized Doris as one of the top 100 Female Entrepreneurs in Canada on seven separate occasions since 1999.

Doris is actively involved in the food industry, as a current board member of the Canadian Spice Association, and past board member of the Canadian Meat Council, and Food and Beverage Ontario.

She has experienced many business challenges over the years, and credits peer support from her PEO (Presidents of Enterprising Organizations) group for keeping her on track.  Her business focus has always been on continuous improvement for herself, her company, and her employees
