Brad Geddes

President & CEO, Zucora Home

Brad Geddes is President and CEO of Zucora Inc., Canada’s leading provider of product warranties for the home furnishings industry.

Driven by his interest in technology, Brad’s initial career was focused on driving business improvement through software development and systems deployment. After he sold his first business to one of Canada’s largest systems integration companies, he continued to gain experience with a number of technology and publishing related organizations.

These experiences led him to working closely with Geneva-based ISO (International Organization for Standardization). With the acquisition of a publishing company focused on the standards industry, he applied his technology expertise to oversee the development of the world’s first online digital certificate authority in partnership with standards registration bodies in major countries around the world.

Unfortunately, disaster struck with the events of 9/11, just prior to his company opening an office in the World Trade Centre. This tragedy also resulted in the collapse of his emerging enterprise as his industry collaborators and investors withdrew from the market place.

Undaunted, in 2002, Brad became intrigued by the extended warranty business. Relying on his technology and practical business experience, Brad purchased an equity interest in Zucora and led the company’s growth to become Canada’s largest provider of protection programs and customer care services for home furnishing retailers.

Recently, Brad was able to acquire full ownership of Zucora as a direct result of his attendance at last year’s Business Transitions Forum. Leveraging the knowledge he gained at the forum, together with the relationships he developed, Brad was able to find the necessary resources to help his family acquire the equity interest of his minority partner. The transaction was completed in October 2016.

In addition to Zucora, Brad’s other interests include serving as a volunteer for Junior Achievement – the world’s largest youth educational organization. As past Board Chair for JA London & District, Brad is extremely passionate about delivering financial literacy, workplace readiness and entrepreneurship skills to today’s youth.

And when he isn’t thinking about the future, traveling to various parts of the world, or training for the occasional triathlon; Brad and his wife Sherry of 40 years, enjoy spending time with their three grandsons.
