Principal, Managing Director - Transactions, Grant Thornton LLP

Dan is a Managing Director in Grant Thornton Canada’s Transactions practice, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, and capital advisory services (debt and equity financing).  Dan has over 25 years of M&A and corporate finance advisory experience, including work on complex cross-border financing, management/leveraged buyout, and divestiture and acquisition transactions.  His clients have typically been privately owned mid-market companies across a broad range of industries.

Before joining Grant Thornton, Dan was a partner at Orenda Corporate Finance, which was sold to Ernst & Young in 2004, and a founding partner at Solaris Capital Advisors – both firms were independent investment banking boutiques. 

Earlier in his career, Dan was with the Ontario Ministry of Industry, Trade & Technology, where he structured and negotiated government financial participation in large private sector projects.

He is a member of the Hellenic Heritage Foundation (a philanthropic organization), past member of Junior Achievement of Canada’s National Programs Committee and has been on the Board of Directors of several private companies.

Dan received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Rotman School of Management and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
