At age 23, Brent Trepel took the helm of his family business, Ben Moss Jewellers, and became President and later CEO. Over a 30 year career with Ben Moss Jewellers, Brent grew the company to become a leading national retail jewelry chain in Canada with 67 stores and over 600 employees. Under his leadership, Ben Moss was named one of the “50 Best Managed Private Companies in Canada” for six consecutive years; “The Most Innovative Retailer of the Year” by the Retail Council of Canada and “Jewelry Chain Retailer of the Year” by Canadian Jeweler Magazine for two consecutive years. Brent was also named one of “Canada’s Top 40 under 40” by the Financial Post and was a winner in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards in the business-to-consumer products and services category for the Prairie region.
Ben Moss was sold to a strategic buyer in 2013.
Brent is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business. His board experience includes Manitoba YPO including Chapter Chair, Princess Auto and The Associates of the Asper School of Business. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors Course and has received his ICD.D designation.
Brent has had many community leadership roles and he and his wife, Brenlee, were presented with the inaugural William Norrie Arts and Culture Award by Volunteer Manitoba.
