Tea pioneered the robo-advisor model in Canada in 2014, making WealthBar the first of its kind in the country. Today, she oversees the strategic direction of the company. A graduate of Queens University, Tea started her financial career working for elite wealth management firm Nicola Wealth, before moving to an advisor coaching role at Sunlife Financial. Since then, her goal has always been to democratize access to financial services through technology.

Tea is recognized as a thought leader by major media outlets for her expertise in the fintech space. She has also received numerous accolades, including Business in BC’s Most Influential Women and Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40. Tea also sits at the Government of Canada’s Digital Industries Table alongside a small group of hand-selected digital leaders to develop policy recommendations in support of Canada’s technology developers, service providers, and content creators.
