Michael de Pfyffer is a Director of Totem Cove Holdings Inc., the former owner of Thunderbird Marine Corp., which owned marinas, boat yards and a yacht sales organization in Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island.

Upon graduating from UBC, Mike was asked to join his extended family’s business that had started in 1952. Mike was in the 3rd generation operating the business. Mentored by both family and non- family members of the executive, Mike touched all aspects of the businesses, taking responsibly for all divisions and stick handling the rebuilding of the company’s flagship Thunderbird Marina – known as the premiere marina on the coast. Mike has consulted on numerous marina related projects in his 25 + years in the industry.

In October 2015 after much consternation, the families that owned Thunderbird decided that the timing to sell was right. A yearlong sale process wrapped up in February of this year with Thunderbird’s business being sold to a highly respected group of local investors.

Mike was asked to stay on in his former roll and is most pleased at the opportunity to continue to work in the business.
