John is a the Chairman of the Board of Canada GardenWorks Ltd. GardenWorks is a privately-owned and operated retail garden centre with seven retail stores located in the Lower Mainland of B.C. and on Vancouver Island.

He successfully expanded GardenWorks from the initial acquisition of one garden centre in 1984 to one of the largest businesses of its kind in Canada. John has been active in the past on numerous boards and associations including the Chair of the Retail Merchants Association of B.C., President of B.C.Landscape and Nursery Association, President of the Canadian Nursery and Landscape Association and as a board member of Mountain Equipment Co-op. He currently serves as a Director on the Boards of Premium Brands Holdings Corporation and Sloat Garden Centres and as Advisor to Canada Nursery Land.

John holds a BSc from the University of Manitoba
