Founder of Cresco in 1989, Hossein Mousavi came to Nova Scotia in 1980 from his birthplace Iran to study at St. Francis Xavier University. Graduating with a science degree, his plans of attending medical school has changed and he eventually followed his heart into home renovation, before starting his own construction company. Married to Cape Bretoner Darlene Bailey and the father of three, Mr. Mousavi is widely respected for his visionary business approaches to community building. An original member of the Urban Development Institute, his ideas and input on industry trends are regularly sought by organizations ranging from CMCH to the Greater Halifax Partnership. Hossein is now proud to launch The Hossein Mousavi Foundation, dedicated to enriching the quality of community life through charitable giving. To date, Cresco has built close to 2500 homes, 22 Lottery Homes, and has won over 50 industry awards.
