Constantine Hatzipanayis joined Krystal Financial Corp. in May 2010, at the time bringing with him over 10 years of investing experience. Constantine began his career in M&A advisory at Scotia Capital in Toronto, followed by earning an MBA at Simon Fraser University. Constantine then joined the internal corporate M&A team at Intrawest where he worked on a number of acquisitions of winter and summer destination resorts as well as Intrawest’s sale to U.S. private equity firm Fortress Investment Group. Soon after the sale to Fortress he joined BMO Capital Corp., a national subordinated debt group owned by the Bank of Montreal. Constantine obtained his CFA designation during his time with BMO Capital. Today Constantine is a Director at Krystal, charged with taking investment opportunities from the origination phase through the due diligence/financing/closing phases and thereafter managing Krystal’s investments, primarily via supporting the management teams with their strategic initiatives, including growth through acquisition.
A strong believer in supporting the community in which he lives, Constantine previously spent 7 years on
the B.C. Crisis Centre’s board of directors and is today involved on the board of the B.C. chapter of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Association. Constantine lives in North Vancouver with his wife and two young daughters, who keep him very busy outside of work.
