Until recently Brian Hurl was the President and CEO of Foleys Candies Ltd., a privately held manufacturer of chocolate and confectionary coatings.
In 2006 Brian purchased Foleys Candies Ltd. and began an extraordinary period of learning and experience. Together with an exceptional management team they built Foleys into the largest chocolate manufacturer in western Canada. A commitment to quality, customer service and product innovation allowed Foleys to enjoy consistent growth in revenue and profitability.
Prior to Foleys, Brian began his career at a US headquartered commercial bank. A posting in Vancouver in the early ‘80s led him to include life style as a component in the decision making process for future career choices. As a result he worked in corporate/commercial banking, fixed income and investment banking over the next 25 years, all in Vancouver.
In late 2015, Brian made the decision to sell the business. After a full marketing process, a deal was closed in June 2016. While stepping away from day to day activities he will remain active on the Board.
Outside of work, Brian has enjoyed time on the Boston Pizza Foundation Board, the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and as past Chair of the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. He has a wonderful wife Trish and two grown daughters.
