Dr. Courtney Sherlock grew up in Fall River, Nova Scotia.  She attended Dalhousie University for her undergraduate degree and then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College.  She has worked in HRM as a veterinarian since 2006 and purchased ownership of her first hospital in 2013.  In 2015 she had acquired 100% ownership of her first hospital and by 2017 she realised she is an entrepreneur at heart and in doing so formed The Village Veterinary Group which has subsequently opened three additional veterinary hospitals in HRM.

The Village Veterinary Group is currently comprised of; Eastern Passage, East Hants, Bedford Parks, North End and Chester Basin Animal Hospital.  Most recently, they celebrated a clean sweep in the top four spots of “Best of Halifax Veterinary Hospitals” as well as Business of the Year finalist at the Halifax Chamber Awards.

Courtney has been a member of the Entrepreneur Organization since 2014 and has volunteered on the local, regional and global boards over this time.  For the past three years, some of her most rewarding work has been coaching new business owners through the Accelerators program.  She is proud to have been selected as one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs for 2022.

She now lives in Cow Bay with her husband Adam, three children and variety of dogs, cats and chickens.
