Peter Conrod

Business Advisor, McInnes Cooper

As a business advisor for McInnes Cooper, Peter’s work has included development of business priorities, expansion of the firm’s client offerings, client relationship management, business development practices and governance. In this role, Peter works closely with the Managing Partner and the firm-wide management team.

Previous to McInnes Cooper, Peter’s career spanned 40 years in 14 different roles across three companies. Much of his career has entailed working with owners and business clients. Peter has held executive positions with RBC in the Atlantic’s Commercial Banking sector, where he supported a team of 130 people to help business owners grow, manage risk and transition their businesses. Peter then moved to Toronto with RBC as an executive in charge of the Client and Business Strategy for business clients. During his tenure, he significantly grew RBC’s M&A team serving business owners of mid-sized companies in acquiring or selling their businesses.  He also worked to create a national mezzanine finance business; providing support to businesses undergoing significant growth, organically or via acquisition, and lacking typical business assets as security.

Peter is a graduate of both Dalhousie University (B. Comm) and The Ivey School of Business at Western University (MBA). He earned his Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation and in September 2012, was awarded the FCMA designation in recognition of his service and contribution to the CMA profession in Canada. Peter was actively involved as a steering committee member in the merger of the three national accounting bodies into the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) organization.
