Tom Hickey is a native of Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He earned his degree in civil engineering from Dalhousie University.  Tom started his first business, one year out of school and has been involved as an entrepreneur and business owner for over 20 years.

Tom’s specialty is in startups, where he has launched 23 companies since graduation.  Industries for his business ventures have included oil and gas, safety, construction, alcohol, real estate, and medical marijuana, to name a few.  Experience also is both in public and private market sectors, with a significant role on international operations.

Tom sits on a number of boards, including 8 of his operating businesses, along with sitting on Nova Scotia Business Inc. Board, along with chairing the Nova Scotia Business Inc, Investment Committee. 

In addition to his industry experience and professional training, Tom has been recognized through several notable awards, including the following:
