Gerry Lanigan is a Director in the M&A Capital Markets practice, based in BDO’s Charlottetown office, with over 19 years of professional experience focused on corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions. Gerry sources and executes on divestiture, acquisition, and capital raising mandates with clients across Canada. Gerry’s experience is primarily with privately held organizations, ranging in size from early-stage or start-ups, to well established, multi-generation businesses. He has successfully completed transactions with financial, as well as strategic buyers throughout Canada and the United States.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE & INDICATIVE CLIENTS
Gerry has valued hundreds of mid-market businesses in Atlantic Canada. He has advised on M&A transactions across a wide range of industries, and has focus on franchise restaurant, healthcare and manufacturing & distribution (M&D). As a member of BDO’s financial advisory team, he collaborates with colleagues throughout the firm to support entrepreneurs as they grow, evolve and ultimately exit businesses. He is often engaged and consulted regarding expert and limited critique reports in litigation matters involving matrimonial, estate and shareholder disputes.

Gerry has been engaged in Prince Edward Island, as an expert in valuation and related financial analysis.

OTHER EXPERIENCE
Gerry is also an experienced advisor in the start-up space in Atlantic Canada. Gerry has worked with many start-ups, early-stage companies and incubator groups including Propel ICT, LaunchPad PEI and currently serves as the exclusive in-house business advisory mentor at Start-up Zone PEI. He has also presented at many Atlantic Canadian events focusing on business succession, M&A and valuation.
