Terry Holland

Managing Partner, Krystal Growth Partners

Terry Holland has been involved in the Canadian private equity market for over 25 years. A commerce graduate of the University of British Columbia, Terry earned his CA designation in 1981 and was awarded the FCA designation in 2009. After a few years in public practice, followed by several years in real estate development and then in mining finance, Terry joined Trimin Enterprises Inc., a private equity firm, as president. Over the next 7 years Terry would play a lead role in Trimin Enterprises’ success as a growth partner for mid-sized businesses. Anchored on its Partners in Industry philosophy, Trimin Enterprises sought to add new knowledge and experience to capable management teams rather than add burdensome control and oversight to its investments. This philosophy proved highly successful, leading to rapid growth in the company’s investments. Trimin Enterprises started out with approximately $11 million in cash in 1990 and ended 1997 with consolidated sales of $357 million, earnings of $14 million and total assets of $350 million. In 1998, Trimin Enterprises was reorganized into Trimin Capital Corp., which also experienced substantial success under Terry’s leadership. Starting out with cash and investments of approximately $8.5 million, Trimin Capital ended 2003 with consolidated sales of $54 million and total assets of $74 million. Terry left Trimin Capital in 2004, when he launched Krystal Financial Corp., where he has had similar success investing in and working with small to mid-sized western based companies. Terry currently serves as Krystal’s president and CEO.

Terry is a past Chair of the BC Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization and World Presidents’ Organization (WPO), and is also a graduate of Harvard’s President’s Program in Leadership. Also active in his community, Terry is a past chair of the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC, and past board member of St. George’s School.
