As the head of Tax Advisory Services at Scotiabank, Kevin Tran oversees Tax Advisory Services on a national basis, serving advisors and their high net worth (“HNW”) clients across Canada.

Kevin is responsible for providing integrated tax-based planning advice to Scotia Wealth Advisors, Relationship Managers, Financial Consultants, and their HNW clients, as well as Financial Planning Consultants and other Scotia Wealth Management Team of Experts.

Kevin was in public practice for over 8 years and has obtained a wide range of knowledge in accounting and taxation. Prior to joining Scotia Wealth Management, Kevin worked for PwC’s HNW tax practice and has extensive experience in the areas of will planning, post-mortem tax planning, and income splitting with trusts. Previous to that, Kevin was also an integral part of the Private Company Services group at Deloitte specializing in corporate restructuring, estate planning as well as personal & corporate tax issues for owner managers.

In addition, Kevin is a Chartered Accountant and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo holding a Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Accounting, and Masters of Taxation. Kevin has a strong dedication and passion for teaching and is also an instructor at the Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. Kevin teaches the Taxation for Managers and Financial Planners & Canadian Business Taxation courses throughout the year.
