Alex leads the Transaction Services team in Calgary. Alex has specialized in transaction services-related work for over 15 years, assisting Purchasers on acquisitions and also helping Sellers prepare for sale. Prior to Canada, Alex was previously based in China and other parts of Asia performing Deal related work, and also work in London, England performing deal related  work. Alex’s work includes performing Due Diligence, identifying areas of price adjustment, upsides for the buyer post deal and identifying and resolving issues on deals. Alex also works for sellers on deals, ensuring bid prices are maximized, facilitating with preparation of pro forma information, managing data rooms and fielding questions from purchasers. Alex’s work include drafting and reviewing the price adjustment schedules for Sale and Purchase Agreements as well as preparing Closing price adjustment schedules for buyers or sellers. Alex has also performed a number of post deal projects, where he continues to work with the buyer on a project to help ensure issues, opportunities and actions identified during the due diligence phase are addressed post deal. Alex clients include Upstream Oil and Gas clients, Energy Services, Midstream and Utilities, as well as Private Equity and Pension Fund investors. Alex led the due diligence for CNOOC’s acquisition of Nexen, and  for Burger King’s acquisition (via a tax inversion) of Tim Hortons. §Alex was one of the KPMG partners working on the liquidation of Lehman Brothers, with responsibility of evaluating and selling around $3 billion of asserts.
