Tony Smith, CA, is a Partner in MNP’s Calgary office. A member of the firm’s Assurance Services team, Tony also serves as managing partner ofCalgary’s Private Enterprise group. With more than 30 years of experience, Tony understands the wide variety of challenges business owners face. An astute advisor, he provides input and practical solutions for a wide variety of issues. He delivers a range of services that include: audit and assurance, personal tax and financial planning, tax planning for corporate reorganizations, business succession and estate planning.

Prior to joining MNP, Tony spent 10 years with a multinational accounting firm focusing on assurance, tax and general consulting services. He has testified in Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta as an expert witness in taxation matters and has lectured or tutored for several specialized courses.

Tony was designated a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1983 after obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. He also completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth Taxation Course. In his free time, Tony has been involved in many organizations including the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society, the United Way of Calgary and the Estate Planning Council of Calgary.
